WIPER BLADES WITH QCD AUTOCENTRE BRACKLEY

WIPER BLADES

One of the most important requirements for safe driving is having good visibility of the road ahead in all types of weather and driving conditions. We all understand the importance of a clean windscreen; yet we often neglect checking if our windscreen wiper blades are in effective working condition until we need to use them.
Wiper blades wear over time and should be checked regularly. It is recommended to change your wiper blades every 12 months to provide maximum visibility. There are usually a few signs to alert you of wear such as streaking, skipping, squeaking and splitting – all leading to reduced visibility and slowed reaction time while driving.
Your wiper blades should wipe the windscreen smoothly and quietly and should always stop before it touches the rubber frame of the windscreen. Should you notice one of the common signs of a worn or damaged wiper blade then your wiper blades should be checked and if required replaced immediately.

HOPPING

Your wipers hop or judder across your windscreen when it rains and leave behind streaks due to a change in the wiper blade characteristics.

NOT CLEARING RAIN CORRECTLY

Your wipers may not remove rain correctly due to worn rubber which causes a general ‘rounding’ of the wipers edge.

THICK BANDS OF WATER

You may get thick bands of water left on your windscreen as a result of the rubber hardening or becoming damaged with age.

WIPERS MISSING SCREEN

Your wipers miss the screen when in use at speed, this happens as a result of an old or poor-quality blade or wiper arm.

SQUEAKING

Your wipers make a squeaking noise when moving across the windscreen when the rubber has come to the end of its useful life and your wipers need replacement.
