DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF) CLEANING

Diesel engines can be prone to soot build-up mainly when a vehicle is driven around town or on short or low speed journeys. Diesel Particulate Filters or more commonly referred to as DPFs are designed to remove this soot whilst you drive, but over time they can stop working or become blocked.
Our process cleanly burns off the excess soot deposited in the filter, reducing the harmful exhaust emission and helps to prevent the thick black smoke coming from a vehicle exhaust during acceleration. We recommend regular DPF cleaning to ensure you vehicle is performing correctly.

WHAT IS A DPF AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Whilst driving harmful exhaust soot starts to build-up on the walls of your DPF filter, reducing performance and fuel efficiency. To keep the DPF system clean a process called regeneration is used. This is when the exhaust temperature rises to 600°C and burns off the soot, keeping your engine free of harmful chemicals.
There are many factors that can stop the regeneration process from working correctly. Our specialist team can quickly diagnose any issues and advise on work required to get your DPF performing effectively.

DO I NEED DPF CLEANING?

If you’re experiencing the following symptoms your DPF may need cleaning:
A new DPF system can cost as much as £3,000 from the main dealer but using our process we will look to regenerate your existing DPF, to avoid any large bills by getting a replacement. Make sure to get your vehicle checked as soon as possible.
